Shri Prakash Chand Garg, is an exceptional professional in the field of EHV Power transmission system in India. He has diverse experience of more than 35 years in EHV transmission system covering almost all the areas right from Conceptualization of the projects to commissioning of the project and Operation & Maintenance of the EHV Transmission System.

As COO (CTUIL), he is overseeing the power system planning including approval for Connectivity &  Grant of Open Access and has been closely associated with policy advocacy and evolution of regulations in the power sector to facilitate the opening of the transmission sector to competition as envisaged under the Electricity Act 2003.

With opening of sector to competition, he has also been closely associated with the implementation of transmission segment of the Renewable Energy Capacity Implementation goals. He has been instrumental in planning a robust transmission system infrastructure for seamless integration of the RE Power plants with National Grid on ‘plug-and-play’ model. He has played a major role for adoption of latest technologies like VSC based HVDC, Statcoms, Synchronous condenser, Dynamic line loading etc to improve the reliability & stability of Grid considering the integration of 500GW RE by 2030.

He has the unique distinction of having hands on experience in establishing EHV Substations and Transmission lines apart from having been associated with the System planning and Regulatory functions in the Indian Power sector.
