Graduated in Electrical Engineering (BE) from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore during 1982 and worked as Lecturer in the same college for around 4 years. In the meanwhile, completed my Master’s Degree (ME in Electrical Machines) in PSG College of Technology itself.

Then joined as Assistant Engineer in TNEB, in the year 1986 in R& D division.

After serving for more than 30 years got retired during May 2017, as Superintending Engineer, Renewable Energy Management Centre (REMC). Then served as consultant for 2 months in TANTRASCO itself.

Subsequently worked as Chief Technical Advisor for a leading Renewable Energy company “Leap Green Energy Limited’ for nearly for 10 months, before I was recalled by the Government to serve as Chief Consultant in Tamilnadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) during December 2018 and served till JUNE 2021.

Subsequently I have re-joined in “Leap Green Energy Limited’ as Technical Advisor and with them as on date.

My entire service was focused on Renewable Energy sector only. Starting from KW scale of windmill, I was involved in the growth of WIND ENERGY in Tamil Nadu and saw it crossing 7500 MW, in various categories. In policy decisions, power evacuation, setting up of dedicated substations for Wind Power, Integration issue etc.,

Also served in Tamilnadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA), the State Nodal Agency for Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt of India, for nearly 7 years, on deputation.

During that time, I was involved in other forms of Renewable Energy such as Biomass, Waste to Energy, Solar sector also.
Involved in preparation of First State Solar Energy Policy during 2012.
In TEDA, we developed the prestigious 'Amma Green House" scheme, by taking solar energy to rural area.

When got promoted as Superintending Engineer (SE) and posted as the first SE/ Renewable Energy Management Center (REMC) of the State

Then for two years, worked in the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC), mainly involving in Large scale integration of RE into the grid.
I may proudly put forth that during this period, maximum wind energy was absorbed in to TN grid.

Earlier I worked in the Transmission wing and contributed in bringing the German funding for the Green Energy Corridor.
During the course of my service, as Chief Consultant in TEDA, I was involved in preparation of State’s second Solar Energy Policy in 2019.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS ATTENDED:

During 2009, visited Sweden to study about Waste to Energy project.

During 2015, attended an International RE conference at San Diego, California and visited the world famous National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) at Denver.

During 2015 itself, visited Denmark and Switzerland to study about large scale integration of RE into the grid. Visited Danish Energy Agency at Copenhagen and SWISS GRID.

During 2016, attended another RE Conference at Berlin, Germany and presented a paper on "TN RE scenario" and visited GIZ office at Frankfurt for availing green energy fund for our State.

During 2017, again went to San Diego to attend an International Conference on Energy Storage. Again visited NREL at Denver. Also visited the world's largest CSP project near Las Vegas.

During May 2019, accompanied Secretary Energy Department, Govt of TN, to Scotland, Whales and England to explore the possibilities of latest trend towards integration of large scale RE into the grid.

During August 2019, accompanied Hon’ble Chief Minister and Hon’ble Health Minister of Tamil Nadu to England, for visiting a System Operating Center at Ipswich, near London to have firsthand information on Large Scale Integration of RE into the grid.

Recently, during June 2022, visited Manchester, New Castle and Glasgow to explore the possibilities of insatlling OFF SHORE wind farms in India, arranged by the British High Commission in India. The team was headed by the Honble Minister for Electricity, Govt of TN. Shri. Senthil Balaji and comprised of top officials of Energy Department of GoTN.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CONDUCTED AT CHENNAI:

During September 2016, I was instrumental in organizing an International Conference at Chennai on RE Integration, (TREC 2016), by bringing major players in RE sector from USA, GERMANY, DENMARK, SWITZERLAND, etc.,

This conference turned out to be a huge success, in mainly educating Engineers of TANGEDCO and TANTRANSCO about the importance of Renewable Energy over the conventional energy.
